It’s been a busy couple of months, and to those of you who have been coming back consistently, I thank you. Tell your friends about Speaking of Cars, too. Post a link on your favorite forum or other site. Yes, I’m unabashedly asking for free publicity. I have found that it is often the best kind.
There have been a few changes recently, none more important than the addition of Vernon Heywood as a contributing writer. I met Vernon back at my MyRide.com days, and he’s a hell of a guy, and never afraid to voice his opinion. He’s an expert on off-roading and rebuilding old cars, and you’ll be seeing a lot more of his contributions on Speaking of Cars.
I’ve made Speaking of Cars a little easier to navigate and follow in the past few weeks. First, I’ve added a Featured Content rotator above the sidebar. It will change periodically, but will always showcase the best stuff I have to offer. Second, I’ve joined Ashton, Oprah and pretty much the entire rest of the world with a Twitter feed. It’s @tweetingofcars, and you can follow by clicking that, or the link on the sidebar. I’ve also relocated my RSS feed, for those who thought it got lost in the shuffle of adding the new rotator.
Anyhow, Speaking of Cars is a place where I can indulge my own passion for cars and the auto industry in general. Like anything, it’s a work in progress. I’ll be updating with blog posts as often as I can, and when there’s something that piques my interest. Will I run every single car industry-related bit of trivia I come across? No. Hey, I’m only one guy. If you’re interested in doing that for me, I can pay you zero dollars, but you’ll have my gratitude, and that’s got to be worth something. Hey, if you’re local, I’ll even buy you a beer now and then (as long as you’re 21+). Drop me an email and let me know if you want to contribute.
For now, if you like something you see, or better yet if you hate something you see, post a comment. I’d love to hear what you think. Check back frequently, too. I’ll be updating with new features soon, including the debut of the Speaking of Cars Podcast. C’mon…the word “Speaking” is in the title of the website. You knew I’d do it sooner or later.
