About Keith Buglewicz

Keith Buglewicz My name is Keith Buglewicz, and I’ve been writing about cars for the better part of two decades now. I cut my teeth on the late, great Sport Compact Car and other import-aftermarket books. From there I went to a variety of other outlets, most recently I’ve concentrated on the new-car market, and I hardly ever do aftermarket stuff anymore. If you want a full rundown on my career, check out my LinkedIn profile; if you’re on LinkedIn, contact me. Same goes with Facebook. I’m currently freelancing, so if you’re an outlet in need of automotive content, contact me.

Since LinkedIn and Facebook take care of the “who is this guy” questions, I figured I’d fill up a little space answering a few questions that always seem to come up when someone discovers that I write about cars for a living.

What’s your favorite car?

I don’t have one. I like a lot of cars, but I know that there is no one car that I’d be happy with for the rest of my life. I like sports cars, sure, but try carrying three kids in one. I like minivans, but they’re not a hell of a lot of fun. Sedans are great, unless you need to haul some lumber home from the local home improvement joint. Trucks are fine for that, but they tend to drive like trucks. So my favorite car is one that has the handling and power of a sports car, has the family-hauling capabilities of a minivan, can haul lumber and things like a pickup, and sports a sleek profile like a cool sport sedan. So far, I haven’t found it.

That said, right now I have a thing for mid-60s full-size GM convertibles. I have no idea why.

What car should I buy?

Buy what you like. Seriously, I’ve almost given up on answering this question. In the past when solicited for advice, I’ve asked questions, sagely pondered the person’s needs versus their wants, recommended something that would suit them perfectly, and then watched them buy the exact opposite. Fool me once, etc., y’know?

What’s the fastest car you’ve ever driven?

There are two answers. The first is simple: Dodge Viper. Top speed is just over 200 mph, even though I didn’t actually go that fast. I don’t recall ever having driven a car capable of higher speed than that. My personal best? That’s a closely guarded secret. I’ll just say “Fast.”
