Video: Honda’s Crazy New “Fury” Ad

Vintage Honda 50 Ad I don’t ride, but like most car enthusiasts I like motorcycles because they’re loud and look neat and have power to weight ratios that a car can only dream of. So, even though I’ll probably never ride because I want to see my kids grow up and don’t think that intubation is for me, they’re still cool in my book.

Honda, as you may already know, started life as a maker of motorcycles. In fact, it’s how the company earned its reputation in the U.S. In 1963, it was busy selling the Honda 50 at a time when motorcycles were mainly ridden by hoodlums. How? With the tag line, “You meet the nicest people on a Honda.” It was clever and refreshing, and it worked like a charm by portraying Honda riders as friendly, family types that had nothing to do with the “wild bunch” image motorcycles had.

Well, so much for that B.S.
